  1. I can definitely see the merit in starting your search for a dentist with a general practitioner instead of a specialist. I would imagine that in most cases a general dentist would tell you if you needed a specialist for anything, and at that point you could find one. I would also think that it would be important to ask for recommendations form family members or friends when looking to choose one.

I really like that you say to look at the school they when to, and if they passed their dental exam. I just think it would be nice to actually see that they are proud of where they learned.
